When I started to learn about the handmade marketplace, I was lucky enough to hear about an excellent book by Kari Chapin: The Handmade Marketplace. The second edition (updated) was released in 2014. This 256- page book is a bible for the handmade community and it is very popular with artisans.
Kari discusses many topics such as branding, marketing, advertising, social media, blogs, craft fairs, online selling and much more. The book is very user-friendly and it’s a quick read.
Many contributors participated in this work. Kari gives a lot of space to her ‘Creative Collective’: they share their experience and give us advice on various topics.
You can buy her book through many websites or in bookstores. For more information, visit her website at karichapin.com.
